Drama and theatre—an art form through which I have also learned the effective use of language—has been a special interest of mine. At university I acted in and stage managed several plays. In Turkey I organized an expatriate group of Canadian amateur thespians that performed readings on a regular basis. I also volunteered my services there by directing my students in short dramatic skits.

For a year in Ottawa, I also volunteered as a teaching assistant in my old high school. Generally speaking, I am the quiet, organized behind-the-scenes facilitator and catalyst in whatever community or work environment I find myself.
